Our Lymington office is looking forward to hosting an evening in the company of polar explorer Manley Hopkinson at the Balmer Lawn Hotel on Wednesday 1st February. This promises to be a fascinating evening and will give us a chance to learn about previous expeditions and Manley’s up and coming trip to the South Pole.

Chestnut Tree House is currently caring for approximately 220 life-limited children and their families across Sussex, with what is thought to be potentially another 400 families with life-limited children in Sussex that could benefit from the hospice’s services.

Anne Gilbert has joined the Thesis Board as a non-Executive Director. Anne was formerly the CEO of Principal Asset Management and will bring with her a wealth of experience to the firm.

Last year saw Thesis increase its staff headcount across several different parts of the business. In the last few weeks this recruitment has continued and we’ve welcomed further new appointments to the firm. We are pleased to welcome the following new members of staff to Thesis:

Janet Rumney – HR Manager (Chichester)

At the end of November our Chichester office sponsored the "Merry Quizmas" quiz in aid of the St Wilfrid’s Hospice charity. In a fun and festive atmosphere, with many teams competing in fancy dress, a small select team from Thesis fortunately emerged without embarrassment and quite rightly, as sponsors, without first prize.

With Thesis back this year as a sponsor of the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP), our attendance at it’s conference marked a return for us after three years away and we were at the Celtic Manor resort as a sponsor and exhibitor to help the IFP celebrate its 25th anniversary.

As with previous years, we try to get a little creative as an exhibitor. In addition to the opportunity to win an iPad 2, our game of jumping tiddly frogs was one of the surprisingly well attended activities that we got delegates to participate in for the chance to win a Thesis mug.

Having got over the shock of hitting 40 and therefore becoming a veteran, our Director of Marketing and Business Development James Goward can look back at a successful summer racing campaign.

As a specialist time trialist racing for Team Scott Plasma, James competed in 44 races notching up 17 victories and fi nishing in the top five on 32 occasions in a season extending from March to October.

Our Lymington office organised a Charity Quiz Night jointly in support of the Oakhaven Hospice Trust and Champion Behaviours, the latter an organisation which provides motivation workshops to young people in the New Forest area who are in danger of exclusion from school and society.

Over 60 people attended the evening which raised £1,200 for the specifi c charities. A trophy and prizes were presented to the winning team, ‘The Whynots’ by Giles Marriage, Director of the Lymington offi ce. Congratulations to ‘The Whynots’ for their victory.

We are pleased to announce that Paul Morley, from our Brighton office, has recently been promoted to Assistant Investment Manager (AIM) following his recent pass of the second element of his Wealth Management Diploma and in recognition of his hard work and high standards.

Thesis provides a stocks and shares JISA that enables investment into our Optima range of funds* up to the maximum contribution limit of initially £3,600.

Our Optima range of funds have a proven track record of performance and provide access to a choice of funds with differing objectives and risk volatility.
