Who are we?

Thesis is a public limited company, formed in 1974 by law firm Thomas Eggar with the aim of being able to offer (primarily discretionary) asset management services to clients of the law firm. 

The service has expanded over the past 37 years to include clients of other firms of accountants, financial planners and lawyers. The majority of our new clients are introduced to us from such professionals but in addition we also attract direct business as well as a significant number of referrals from existing clients. 

Whilst Thomas Eggar no longer directly owns us, we remain linked to the law firm as our shareholders are certain current and former partners of Thomas Eggar.

The asset management side of our business (Thesis Asset Management plc) provides discretionary investment management for individuals, charities and Trustees through our Personal Investment Portfolio and Optima Investment Portfolio and Model Portfolio services. Our Private Office team caters for clients with specialist needs with £5 million or more to invest.

Thesis has 18 Investment Managers providing services to clients from offices in London, Chichester, Brighton, Gatwick, Guildford and Lymington. 

We offer bespoke discretionary portfolio management from £150,000 and ready-made management solutions for investments from £10,000 upwards, as well as the creation and administration of collective investment vehicles for several million pounds and more.

With approximately £3 billion under management and over 35 years experience, Thesis has a proven track record. But it’s not what we do that’s different – it’s how we do it. 

In terms of proposition we believe all discretionary management providers offer broadly the same range of services and at a similar price to each other. At Thesis we seek to stand apart from the crowd by delivering our proposition with service excellence, regular communication and remaining approachable to our clients.
